Lillian Berrett

April 18, 1929 — October 26, 2015

Lillian Pearl Gerber Berrett of Orem, UT returned peacefully to her heavenly home on Monday, October 26, 2015. She was born April 18, 1929 in Midvale, UT to Conread and Dorothy Gerber of Granger, UT.

Lillian was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in the community throughout her life, serving in the PTA, American Cancer Society, LDS Social Services, Crisis Line, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Orem Women's Club, Yeshara, BYU Engineering Wives and LDS Locator Services Mission. She was a beloved mother of 8 children and second mom to many young people, always willing to share her heart and home. She taught by word and example to "always look for the good" in others and in life. While serving in the Western States Mission from 1951 to 1952, Lillian impressed her District President, Paul Orin Berrett, with her work ethic and devotion to the gospel. Following their missions and a short courtship they married for time and all eternity on Sept. 19, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In 1995 they served together in the Mississippi Jackson Mission. She is survived by her beloved husband Paul of 63 years and her children Shaunna (Sergio) Cuevas of Plain City UT, Cynthia (David) Boyle of Monroe LA, Roger (Diane) Berrett of Lindon UT, M. Leon (Lori) Berrett of Riverton UT, Bruce "Uncle Boo" Berrett of Orem UT, Karen (Ric) Cleveland of Layton UT, Mark (Rebecca) Berrett of Lehi UT, Douglas (Shauna) Berrett of Orem UT, her brothers Ronald (Marquita) Gerber of Taylorsville UT and LeRoy (Tisina) Gerber of Millcreek UT, and 34 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Vona Osmond, and brothers Conread and Gary. Viewing from 6-8 PM on Friday, October 30 at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 S State, Orem, UT. A second viewing will be held between 9:30 and 10:30 AM at the Sharon 1st Ward, 641 S 400 E, Orem UT with funeral services following at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery. Special thanks to all her care providers in the last years of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the LDS Mission Fund.
