Laura Mesa

October 14, 1959 — August 22, 2014

Laura Ann Kofford Mesa passed away Friday, August 22, 2014, in Provo, Utah. She fought valiantly with Multiple Sclerosis for 27 years and has left her crippled body behind to dance in heaven. Laura was born October 14, 1959, to Kathryn Rawlins and Jack C. Kofford in Provo, Utah. She grew up in Orem and attended Orem High School. She was soon on her own and working, where she perfected her exceptional people skills. She was always ready to listen and made many friends over the years because of that talent. She worked several years at Chub's Automotive with her step-dad and brother. At age 27 she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and soon had to give up her job. She took on this new challenge with amazing determination and strength and survived for 27 years. She had support from many family members and friends, which was inspiring to witness. Laura is survived by her mother, Kathryn Rodabaugh; sister, Amy Walker (Mark); neice, Jessica Eddie; and nine neices and nephews plus many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors. Preceding her in death were her beloved brother Randy Kofford, her special step-dad Luther F. (Chub) Rodabaugh, Grandparents Mae Rawlins, Cree and Melba Kofford. Our hearts are full of love for all who have helped Laura over the years. Special thanks to Dr. John Rose and Julia Klein at the U of U hospital, friends Phillip and Linda Mogle, Mike Smith, Larona Anderson, loving staff at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab, and hospice care by Utah Home Health and Hospice. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Orem City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Multiple Sclerosis society.
