LaMar Jay Jacobsen, 83, of Orem, a caring, selfless, and loveable man, left this earthly life on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. He passed peacefully with his family by his side.
He was born December 23, 1934. He attended school in Orem, Utah. LaMar enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed working as a greeter at Walmart and Geneva Steel. He enjoyed square dancing with his beloved wife. He also enjoyed traveling with his family. LaMar was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed attending church and socializing with his neighbors.
LaMar married Evelyn Iona Allred in 1955 in the Logan, Utah, Temple. They had six children. LaMar is survived by his children: Shelley (Carlos) Gonzales of Orem, Utah; Terri (Jon) Broderick of Tucson, Arizona; Wesley (Sherrie) Jacobsen of Danbury, Texas; Vicki Jacobsen of Orem, Utah; Valerie (Lisa) Lanoue of West Valley City, Utah; Tracey (John) Clark of Spanish Fork, Utah; his sister Nadine Johnson (Cliff) Phillips; 20 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother, and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2018, at the Lakeview LDS stake center at 450 West 1800 South Orem, Utah. Viewings will take place on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Sundberg Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah, and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. just prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
