Kathryn Pryor Wood, 70 years old of Orem, Utah passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a battle well fought against Cancer. She was born in Cedar City, Utah to Harry Melling and Edith Pryor. She was married to her husband of 46 years, Joseph Brent Wood. They were married on June 23,1972 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Kathy had 5 children and 14 grandchildren that meant the entire world to her.
Much of her time was given to both her family and so many others. Kathy spent time serving in many church callings which led to many friends. She was always doing for others: Visiting people, baking goodies like coconut bread, planning and carrying out events, volunteering her time and so much more. She often had people living with her and opened her home to everyone including many foster children. Kathy liked to cook, organize, crochet, cross stitch, sew, read her scriptures and LDS General Conference talks, go for drives and most of all spend time with others. Kathy was involved in supporting many causes but a special place in her heart was reserved for those with Autism. She volunteered time to help the Autism community in many ways. Kathy had a strong belief in helping others which included those who had less, were homeless and struggled in any way. She had a big heart and always wanted to help in any way big or small.
Kathryn is survived by her brother, Antone Pryor (Young Oak Kim) of Bainbridge Island, WA, her husband, J. Brent Wood and her five children: Diana Ptacek (Tom) of Atlanta, GA; Bryan Wood (Angela) of Mapleton, UT; Tiffany Wood Drake (Seth) of Highland, UT; Chris Wood (Nani) of Lindon, UT; and Kasondra Hurst (Steve) of St. George, UT. She also has 14 grandchildren that will miss her greatly. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William Pryor and Kenneth Pryor. We will miss her dearly and can't wait to see her again.
