Kathleen Weeter Crawford

May 15, 1946 — November 3, 2024

Orem

Kathleen Weeter Crawford, 78, of Orem, passed away on November 3, 2024. She was born on May 15, 1946, in Provo, Utah, to Warren Glenn Weeter and Norma Pearce. She was the third of 5 children. She met her husband Reed on a blind date that was set up by a mutual friend. They were married on September 6, 1974, in the Provo Temple. Reed preceded her in death on December 5, 2000.

Kathleen lived in many places growing up. Some of those include Provo, Wyoming, and South Dakota. After graduation, she spent a summer back east in Massachusetts. She attended UTC (UVU in its earliest days). She received her associate's degree there. One of the things she really enjoyed doing as she attended college was acting in dramatic plays. Things she loved to do with her family were bowling, fishing, taking long car drives, camping, and attending her children’s many sporting events and school activities. She often took a day off of work to accompany us on field trips at school. She worked at UVU for 30 years as the Warehouse/Mailroom Supervisor, and she was very proficient in her job. Some of our favorite memories as her children were getting to hang out there for a day and get lunch with her or play in the mailroom. She enjoyed cross-stitching and made a tablecloth for each child and grandchild. She also loved spending time putting together photo books. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she loved her husband, children, and grandchildren dearly. She would do anything for you if it was in her power to do so. Her greatest legacy for her posterity is the service she showed to others. She encouraged and made sure her children shoveled the widow's walks when it snowed, or raking their leaves in the fall. Countless times she took meals, goodies, or gifts to those she saw had a need. She always taught us to stick up for the underdog.

Kathleen is survived by her brother Ben (Trish) Weeter, and her sister LoAnn (Glenn) Goodworth, her 5 children: Kirsten (William) Graham of Orem, Utah, Andrew (Kasey) Crawford of Meridian, Idaho, James (Amanda) Crawford of Payson, Utah, Emily (Robert) McArthur of Herriman, Utah, and Matthew (Heather) Crawford of Springfield, Missouri, 27 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reed, her sister Shauna, and brother Gary.
