Katherine Norris

The relentless ravages of run-away cancer has claimed another victim. Katherine Treva Blackburn Norris, 67, beat cancer in the first round but then it came back and showed no mercy. Her passing on January 21 in Orem, Utah left a big void in the Kenneth Norris Family of 3 sons, 3 daughters and 14 grandchildren. She was born in Rexburg, Idaho and raised in Ashton, Idaho with her 5 siblings. She graduated from North Fremont High School and married Kenneth Norris. After moving around for a number of years, they settled in Orem, Utah, where they raised their family. She was a stay at home mom for awhile, then worked a number of jobs along with earning her associate’s degree. She worked for BYU for 18 years in the accounting department, where she was still employed at the time of her passing. She loved yard work and flowers, especially the 80+ rose bushes she had, and she loved to read. Camping was a big hit for her, along with going on trips with her kids.

Funeral Services will be held Friday January 27, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State St., Orem. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 11:30-12:45. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery. A memorial fund has been set up in the name of Katherine Norris, at America First Credit Union.
