Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son and Brother Karman "C" (KC) Bastian, age 61, of Orem, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016, surrounded by his family at the Utah Valley Hospital due to a sudden illness. KC was born May 16, 1955 in Salina, Sevier, Utah to Leo Hannig Bastian and Karma Christiansen. Karma passed away three days after his birth and KC was raised by mother, Beth Steed Hinman Bastian. He married Joyce Willis June 3, 1977 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple.
KC worked as a manager in Dining Services at BYU. He enjoyed learning, reading, and photography. His greatest joy came from his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as an assistant financial clerk.
He is survived by his wife Joyce and families of their six children: Jason Bastian and Andrew Nielsen, of Salt Lake City; Jacob Bastian and Jenn Lee of Syracuse; Bethany and Corey Abbott of Louisiana; Christopher and Sarah Pimentel Bastian of Orem; Brian and Teri Francis Bastian of Washington; Brent Bastian of Orem; and 8 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 19, at 1 p.m in the Orem Hillcrest 4th Ward Chapel located at 440 East 800 South, Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held at the church at 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
