Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Karen Moultrie Atterton passed away March 13, 2017 at her home in Provo, Utah. She was born January 11, 1941, in Kaysville, Utah, to Marvin and Clara Bone Moultrie.
She was raised in Layton, Utah, and Chehalis, Washington. Karen met her loving husband, Bruce Atterton in August 1948, in Chehalis. They were married December 22, 1960, in the Salt Lake LDS temple.
Karen worked at Cloud 9/Hatches in the University Mall for several years and then worked as a teacher’s aide at Rock Canyon Elementary until she retired. Karen was dearly loved by the children, both students and neighbor children.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as Primary President at the age of 19, and throughout the years served as Relief Society President, Cub Scout leader, Young Women’s leader, taught Sunday School and Primary.
Karen loved sewing, tole painting, crafts, scrapbooking, camping, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling. Her greatest joy came in the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spoiling them. She would always be known to stick some money in their pocket before they left her home.
Karen will be dearly missed by her adoring husband Bruce, children Brent (Kim) Atterton, Bert (Sherice) Atterton, KariLyne (Justin) Sorensen, 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and dearest Sister Sherry (Ron) Travers.
