June was born August 26, 1924 in Magna, Utah to Leah Shelton Larsen and Vorris DeLoran Justesen and died in her sleep at the Sunrise Hospice Care home in Orem, Utah on April 9, 2016, at age 91.
June had an older sister, Marie and a younger brother, Vorris Dee. When she was 13 years old, her family moved to Malad, Idaho, where she completed her high school education.
June married her high school sweetheart, Berthel Crowther, on January 23, 1945, in the Logan Temple. Berthel passed away in 1987. On June 1, 1991, June married Ernest Summers, in Orem, Utah. He passed away in 2008.
She is survived by her brother Dee (& Sammie), three sons, Barry (& Marjorie), Kim (& Kay) and Keven (& Susan), nine grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren.
Her community service and work experience included: an active 4-H teacher, a cashier at J.N. Ireland Bank in Malad, Idaho, President of the PTA, Secretary for Crowther Brothers Milling Co., Chairman of the Miss Malad Pageant, member of the Utah Daughters of the Pioneers, chairman of the Orem Summer Fest and Secretary to the Orem Senior Friendship Center.
June was very active in the LDS church, serving in both Ward and Stake positions including: Sunday School Secretary, Primary and Relief Society Presidencies, Young Women’s President and 28 years serving as chorister in both the ward and stake. She became an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple.
Her faith in her Heavenly Father, her joy of living, her love for others and her seemingly effortless ability to receive answers to prayer are June’s crowning glory. Her life served as an example of faith, hope and
inspiration to all no matter the age. She was always positive and happy. Everyone who came in contact with June always left feeling better.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stonewood 3rd Ward chapel, 450 South 100 West in Orem, Utah, with a family viewing from 6 to 8 pm at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, UT, and a morning viewing at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Pleasant View, Idaho at 3:30 p.m.
