Julia was born in Provo, Utah to Richard Frank Thompson and Alta Luella Hansen on September 27, 1952. She lived in Mapleton, Provo, Springville, Orem, West Valley City, Draper, and Murray. She graduated from Westminster College. She worked several jobs over the years but most of her career was spent working for Salt Lake County. She was heavily involved in 4-H and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Julia adopted her son Brayden McKay Frehner Thompson in 2007 when he was seven years old. She grew with him, and he taught her how to love. She loved him dearly and always just wanted the best for him.
She had many hobbies but loved to do hair, sew, do puzzles, travel, and talk to family. She also found joy in her many nieces and nephews. Julia loved to be a part of their lives and attend their school, sports, and church activities. She loved them fiercely.
Julia is preceded in death by her parents Richard Frank and Alta Luella Thompson. Her best friend and sister Debra (Brad) Frehner. Her brother-in-law Charlie Hall, sister-in-law Irene Thompson, nephew Tanner Thompson, and niece Katie Thompson.
Julia is survived by her son, Brayden Mckay Frehner Thompson; siblings Merrill (Irene) Thompson, Nola (Charlie) Hall, Tony (Karen) Thompson; and many nieces, and nephews. She also leaves behind many beloved friends including her roommate of several years Carol Bennett.
The family would like to thank Bishop Payne and the Murray 1st Ward for being such great ministering brothers and sisters. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, medical assistants, CNAs, receptionists, and hospice caregivers who took care of Julia over the years.
