Joy Berry Denton, 78, passed away peacefully, Friday morning, 11 May 2018 in Provo, UT. Joy was born 7 July 1939 in Batesville, MS. Joy was an avid seamstress and worked, from time to time, sewing everything from infant pajamas, baby dolls, employee uniforms, and motorcycle seat covers. Joy was a hard worker who always did what was needed to care for her children.
Joy was proud to have had the opportunity to serve missions in Naga, Philippines and Ghana, Africa for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her favorite church callings were leading music and being the director for Girl's Camp. Joy loved calling bingo at the Orem Senior Center and enjoyed few things more than making people laugh.
Joy was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Carlos Denton and her sister Doris Tabb. She is survived by her sisters Reba (John) Bryner, Ernestine (George) Warren, and Violet (Gene) York; brothers Ivy Berry and Wayne (Donna) Berry; children Carla (David) Curtis, Michael (Heidi) Denton, Andrea Denton, and Rebecca Lee; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday 17 May 2018 at the LDS Chapel located at 90 North 600 West, Orem, UT. A public visitation will begin at 9:30 am that same morning. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery.
