Joshua Hunter

Joshua Hayden Hunter passed away on December 28, 2015. He was born on February 18, 1979 to Don Edward Hunter and Mary Sheila Houchen Hunter in Provo, Utah. Joshua graduated with honors from Mountain View High School with his best friend and teacher aid Brenda Pollock by his side. Joshua also graduated from Mountain View Seminary. He was loved by all of his class mates and teachers. Joshua was a boy scout and an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he was an Elder. He went on the first father, son mission for two years at Mount Timpanogas Temple. Joshua lived with his parents until 8 years ago when his health started to fail and he moved into Trinity Mission in Provo. Joshua was Orem's weather forecaster for Chanel 4 News for many years. Joshua loved the weather of all seasons especially the snow. He loved to be around his family and friends. Everyone he met loved Joshua and instantly became his friend. He loved any BYU sports especially football. Joshua's big interest was medical news and he loved to see how the body functioned. The love of his life was his beloved dog Goldie his 12 year old golden retriever who passed away just a few days before he did. She even lived with him in his room at the care center for the last 8 years. Everyone loved her and Joshua. Joshua is survived by His dad Don Edward Hunter and his mom Mary Sheila Houchen Hunter. His two sisters Laurie Lynn (Mike) Moran, Gina Dawn (Richard) Luke and many nephews, nieces, cousins and oh so many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. The family would like to express our dear thanks to the wonderful care provided by the staff, aids, nurses and administrators at Trinity Mission and for their love and kindness. And a special thank you to all of the staff at Utah Valley Hospital and U of U Hospital for the kindness they have shown over the years. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Stonewood Stake Center 450 South 100 West in Orem. A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2015 from 6:00pm- 8:00pm at Sundberg-OlpinFuneral Home at 495 South State Street in Orem and on Monday from 11:30a.m.-12:30p.m. prior to services.
