Jose Luis Torres, 75, of Payson, Utah, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2018. He was born October 21, 1942, in Laredo, Mexico.
He served in the United States Navy for three years. He loved hunting, the outdoors, and being surrounded by his family. He retired from Geneva steel after working there for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Villegas; their four children: Gabriel, Abel, Noah, and Joe; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The rosary preceding the viewing will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at The Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah. The viewing will follow from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem, Utah. Interment will follow immediately after at the Payson Cemetery located at 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah. He will be buried with military honors.
A meal will be served at San Andreas Catholic Church located at 315 East 100 North, Payson, following the internment.
