Our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, Jessie Jeanne Jackson Wright, passed away in the early morning, Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Cove Point Assisted Living, in Provo, Utah. Jeanne was born, October 31, 1932, in Kamas, Utah. She was the third of four daughters born to Dorrell Philo and Lila Gines Jackson. She spent her childhood, playing and working with her sisters in Kamas. After Jessie Jeanne (as she was known in her Kamas days) graduated from high school, she attended Utah State Agricultural College and later Brigham Young University. Here, she met her husband, and eternal companion, Jack Olsen Wright. They were married Nov. 16, 1953 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They settled in Fontana, California, where Jack taught Spanish at the local junior high and later, high school. It was here that they raised their six children. Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother, and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ were the two most important things in her life. She loved making birthdays and holidays special for her family. She decorated birthday cakes, sewed special dresses, and made many wonderful meals. She loved beautiful things, and liked to collect dolls and do scrapbooking. Jeanne had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Serving in the church was a high priority in her life. She was a woman of great faith and determination. While in Fontana, she especially enjoyed her callings as Spiritual living teacher, RS President, and Stake Primary President. After their retirement, Jack and Jeanne moved to Provo, Utah. Here they served missions to the Provo Missionary Training Center and in a Spanish Branch in Provo. Jeanne enjoyed this service with Jack very much. She also enjoyed the opportunity to travel with her husband during their retirement years. She especially enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren.
