It is with sadness that that we bid a loving farewell to our father, brother, uncle, and friend Jerry Jeffs. He made us laugh, he helped us love. Our hearts are broken, but we have hope that he has entered a more peaceful place and has had a joyful reunion with his mother and father in the heavens.
Jerald (Jerry) Scott Jeffs, aged 51, passed away October 25, 2018 at his home in Orem, Utah. He was born on July 6th 1967 to Alvin Dean Jeffs and Laurel Johnson Jeffs in Orem, Utah.
Jerry graduated from Mountain View High school in 1985 where he loved playing on the high school basketball team. Jerry went on to play basketball for the Ricks College Vikings while he attended college in Rexburg Idaho. After Ricks College, Jerry attended Brigham Young University for a year before beginning a career in the construction industry. Jerry’s career came to an early end due to physical disability.
Jerry remained a lifetime basketball fan. Almost any night of the week he could be found watching a sports game with one of his favorite teams (the Utah Jazz, the Miami Dolphins, and BYU) and eating a delicious dinner doused in black pepper. Jerry loved to read and always had multiple books by his bedside. Jerry loved both modern and classic fiction, and became an aspiring author himself. Jerry was always up for a conversation about the structure, plotlines, characters, settings, and principles set forth in books. Jerry loved everything fantasy and science fiction, including reading Tolkien, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and re-watching the original Star Wars trilogy. He also spent a lot of time outdoors where he loved to camp, hunt, water ski, snow ski, play games and ride motorcycles.
Most importantly, Jerry loved his family. Jerry found great joy in his daughter LeAundra and he loved spending time with his siblings and father and other family members. Jerry is survived by his daughter LeAundra, his siblings Brian, Richard, Kristine, Randall, and Laura, and his step-mother Darnell Jeffs. He was preceded in death by his brother Michael
