Jeanette Bawden Lawrence returned to her Eternal Home, Saturday, June 6, surrounded by her loving husband and children she cherished. Jeanette was born September 16, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Orval Clyde and La Priel Nan Russon Bawden. She was the third of nine children, all who inherited their parents beautiful red hair; Steven, Jeniel (who was two years older, but shared the same birthdate), Joann, Joyce, Merrill, Grant, Clark and Jewel.
Jeanette met her future husband, Larey Lawrence, on a blind date, which was prompted by her Grandmother Russon. On April 12, 1968, they were married for Time and All Eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. Before settling in Orem, they resided in Kaysville, Wendover, Provo, and Cedar City, Utah.
Jeanette lovingly gave birth to seven children: Judy (Troy) Cunningham, Amy (Danny) Walker, Lanette Lawrence, Aaron (Anna) Lawrence, Alan (Nikki) Lawrence, Jennifer Lawrence, and Ryan (Tiffany) Lawrence. She was a loving Grandmother to 10 Granddaughters, 7 Grandsons, and a Great Granddaughter.
Jeanette was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved serving as a Church Magazine Representative and Ward Librarian for many years. Jeanette loved collecting angel figurines, wind chimes, butterfly, and rainbow pictures, and cutting out comics that made her laugh. She enjoyed taking care of her beautiful roses, crocheting afghans (especially for her children and grandchildren), babysitting, and cooking for her family (and her son Alan's friends who lovingly called her "mom"). Jeanette was, as most red heads are, stubborn, but she always made others laugh with her jokes and funny stories.
Jeanette loved a good rain, lightning, and thunderstorm. She would sit on the porch enjoying the thunder, and the sound and smell of the rain. Our Heavenly Father granted her a peaceful passing at home during one of these storms, a day she would cherish.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her daughter Lanette, her parents, and brother Clark. Jeanette is survived by her Eternal Companion, her loving children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and siblings.
A graveside service will be held at the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her angel daughter Lanette. Jeanette's family would like to thank the many people who lovingly cared for her. They ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Primary Children's Hospital, in dedication for her love of children. Condolences may be expressed at www. SundbergOlpinMortuary.com
