Jason Allen Kessler (age 45) passed away unexpectedly at home on September 18th, 2023. He was born on February 21, 1978, to Randal Allen Kessler and Linda Ann Snyder. A “Marine Corps Brat,” he lived in many locations throughout the U.S. during his early years and ultimately graduated from Provo High School in Utah in 1996. Shortly thereafter, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in San Jose, California and was an outstanding missionary changing so many lives for the better.
Jason had an entrepreneurial mindset. While still in high school, he began a successful auto body repair business. At the same time, he began investing in real estate—buying his first property in Schofield, Utah. Shortly thereafter, he obtained his contractor’s license and began a thriving business as a builder—ultimately becoming a successful real estate developer. If you live anywhere in northern Utah County, there is a strong likelihood that you live in a house that Jason built. Even as the owner of a successful development company. Jason could never resist working with his hands. He loved helping his friends, sisters, brothers and families with home repairs and upgrades because of the love he had for them all.
Jason enjoyed spending time with his wife and children the most, holding an immense love for them. On most weekends, one could probably find him hiking or fishing with them in the mountains, or just hanging out with them at a movie or at home. He was also a diehard fan of the Los Angeles Clippers and took his family with him to their games whenever possible. He was also a self-taught scholar who devoured one history book after another. He had a particular fondness for military history; he could spend hours discussing military campaigns ranging from Alexander the Great to modern times.
Although vigorous and wise, his family most remember him as a gentle person with a very kind and generous heart. He also had a very keen sense of humor. He could make any room full of people laugh almost instantly with his wry observations of life.
Jason is preceded in death by his father, Randal A. Kessler, and his brother, Darrick Huntley (Haddie). He is survived by his loving wife, Lanae Hyte Kessler, and his beloved children Avaree (Austin), Weston, Franklin, Edison, and Benjamin—as well as stepchildren Myah Wittke and Keira Wittke. He is also survived by his beloved mother Linda Ann Butler Snyder, stepmother Susan Kessler and siblings Paulette Kessler (John) Green, Suzanne Kessler, Viviane Kessler (Jeff) Church, Jeffrey (Megan) Kessler, Brandon (Gary) Kessler, Sarah (David) Kessler, Josephine Bamberger, and Wesley Snyder.
A memorial service for Jason is planned for the morning of Thursday, September 21st at the Sundberg-Olpin & Wheeler Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah. A viewing will occur at 9:30 -10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The interment will be at the Highland City Cemetery.
Inasmuch as Jason passed away leaving a wife and young children, it is requested that you provide donations in lieu of flowers, donations can be made at a special VENMO account established for this purpose at @Bennykess-fund-7
