Eternity reached out and embraced Janice "Jan" Anderton Corallo on July 31, 2015 after an eight-year battle with cancer. The sorrow of those whom she left was surely offset by those who welcomed her on the other side. Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend will be greatly missed, but we are happy she is now able to rest peacefully without mortal concerns or pain. Jan was the oldest of eight children born to J. Rulon Anderton and Erma Gines Anderton. Born April 6, 1935 in Ft Duchesne, Utah, she learned the rigors and hard work of farm life early in life. Graduating from Union High School, she continued her studies at Brigham Young University and Utah State University. She married Francis James Corallo on July 26, 1960. They had three children, Dianna Frances Corallo, (John) White, Cary, North Carolina; Cynthia Ann Corallo, Newport Beach, California; and Russell James Corallo (Marissa), Naperville, Illinois. She lived and raised her family in Southern California before moving to Utah to work in the Art Department at BYU. Music was her life-blood. Over many years she sang in numerous choirs and taught music appreciation and piano for over 20 years. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in many capacities throughout her life. Precious grandchildren: Payne White (Jordan), Melissa, Alexandra, John C., Peter, died in infancy, and Natalie White. Morgan, Savannah and Eliza Corallo are the children of Russ and Marissa Corallo. Jan's siblings are Kenneth G. Anderton (Jeanne), Neil G. Anderton (Carolyn), Catheryn Ellen Withy (deceased), Elaine Kirsch Lee (David), Rick Anderton (Kay), Lloyd Rulon Anderton (Tara), and Lisa K Erickson (John). Many nieces and nephews also will miss their Aunt Jan. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at 11:00am at the Sandy Hillcrest Ward Chapel, 915 E 9045 S, Sandy Utah. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:00pm at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 S State, Orem, Utah. Also Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45am at the ward chapel in Sandy.
