Jan Schumacher

Jan Kathlene Schumacher, age 69, of Orem, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017.  She was born July 20, 1948, in Columbus, Georgia, to Melvin Millard Schumacher and Fay Olive Schumacher, who proceeded her in death in October of 2005 and September of 2015, respectively.

Jan worked as a respiratory therapist at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for over 30 years, working specifically with preemies in the neo-natal unit.  Jan enjoyed cross-stitching, reading and was an avid supporter of the Denver Broncos.  Jan was a loving daughter who helped to care for her parents before they passed away.  She was also a loving sister, aunt and great aunt.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by her brother Stephen Schumacher and his wife Lyn Schumacher of Pooler, Georgia; her niece Alicia (Bryan) Evans of Pooler, Georgia; and her two great nephews Stephen Avery and Davis Robert.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Church, at 1240 North 950 West, Orem, Utah.  Friends are welcome for a visitation to greet the family starting at 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services. We appreciate the outpouring of love, support and service that has been given to our family at this time, especially from Hildegard Eralie and her husband John Eralie and Carolyn Lynville.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humane Society of Utah or the Wounded Warrior Project.
