Jackson Charles Fackrell, 47, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, was born August 21, 1974, in Provo, Utah to Christie Ann and Edward Brent Fackrell. He married the love of his life, Shar Kie, in Santa Clara, Utah on November 4, 2016. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Utah Valley University in Provo, Utah, in 2020. He worked for over twenty years in Human Services for the Utah State Developmental Center in American Fork, Utah. Jackson passed away on November 4, 2021.
Jackson’s life was defined by service to others. He always endeavored to help and protect those in need, and he would do so without hope or expectation of praise or reward. Jackson had a tender heart and areservoir of empathy exemplified by his chosen career and his devotion to his wife and family. He had a passion for professional baseball and basketball, he loved cinema and pop-culture, and he had a keen interest in Classical Antiquity and military history. Jackson also had a natural talent for expressing comedic social and cinematic commentary through the visual language of comic art, and he was working toward publishing his body of work. He loved the United States and had a tremendous respect for those who served in uniform.
Jackson thoroughly enjoyed the miracles of nature and its unique and powerful beauty. He loved the Fall with its fiery colors and the raw power of summer thunderstorms. Mostly, Jackson loved spending time with his dear wife. Whether it was simply enjoying quiet time at home to laugh at an old episode of The Simpson’s, hiking under the majestic beauty of California’s Redwood trees, or trying to be brave by sleeping in a haunted hotel, each of those experiences, and so many others, were more precious than gold to Jackson because he got to share them with Shar. To his surviving brothers, Jason, Matthew, Nathan, and Andrew. Jackson was a very gentle soul who had the heart of a lion.
