Helen Pyne

June 10, 1928 — July 2, 2014

Our cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Helen Elaine McFarlane Pyne , passed away peacefully on a beautiful summer morning surrounded by Loved ones on July 2nd 2014. Born June 10 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lawrence McFarlane and Verlie Jackson McFarlane.

Helen graduated from East High in Salt Lake in 1946. Helen later moved with her family to Orem where she met and married her beloved husband Dee Pyne, July 22 1948. Together they made their home in Orem and raised three children. Helen was a devoted wife and mother with a huge capacity for love. As her children grew and married she expanded that love to include her sons and daughters in law and her cherished grandchildren. Helen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, holding many positions in the Relief society and primary.

Helen loved to entertain family and friends in her home especially at Christmas time where her floral design talents were often showcased in local magazines and newspapers. She worked at her nephews floral shop as a designer for many years. She loved to garden and was a past president of the Ladies Olesca club.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Dee in 2008. She is survived by her three children, Debbie Rohbock, Dee Randy(Ann) Pyne, Michelle(Skip) Dunn, a daughter in law, Debbie Elliott a sister Beth Jensen, 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Mom has resided at Alpine Valley Care Center for the last 9 years following a stroke, where she was tenderly cared for by a loving staff too many to mention. Our heartfelt thanks to them.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 9, 2014 at Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street Orem. Family and friends may visit Tuesday evening from 6-8 and Wednesday from 10:00 - 10:45. Interment will take place at the Orem City Cemetery.
