Hazel Riggs

Hazel Dawn Riggs passed away on February 4, 2016 in Orem, Utah. She was born May 23, 1927, in Cedar City, Utah. She attended schools in Mesa, Arizona, and graduated from Mesa Union High School in 1945. Prior to her marriage she attended Brigham Young University and worked as an insurance secretary. In September 1949 she married Robert E. Riggs and with him reared seven children -- Robert, Richard, Russel, Rodney, Raymond, Reisa, and Preston. After their first child, Robert, was born in 1951, she was a full- time mother and homemaker. She made a home for the family in Tucson, Oxford and Illinois, where Bob went to school, and in Utah and Minnesota where he taught. After retirement they served a mission together in the Mesa Arizona Visitors Center and later was an ordinance worker in the Arizona Temple. For the last years of her life, she lived in Orem, Utah. She is survived by six of her seven children. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 9th, 2016 at 10:00a.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home located at 495 South State Street in Orem, Utah. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00-9:45a.m. prior to services.
