Harvey Sorensen

Harvey LeRoy Sorensen, 91, passed away peacefully at his home in Orem on September 11, 2015. Harvey was born to John Brigham and Flora Jane Sorensen on July 9, 1924. He was the youngest of eleven children. In 1950, Harvey married the love of his life, Bernice, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple made their home in Orem, Utah and together they built Sorensen Marine and Autobody. Harvey was a master of creating and restoring vehicles. He would finely craft speedboats from mahogany. His interests later turned to restoring cars. Harvey loved to tell stories about the transformations that he had made happen. Even in retirement, Harvey visited Sorensen Marine and Autobody daily, eager to stay informed on the work being done. Harvey is survived by his children: Sherry Lea, Paul (and Sarah) Sorensen, and Roger Sorensen, all of Orem. Harvey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bernice, his parents, and his brothers and sisters. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, September 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Provo City Cemetery. Visitations will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm and again on Thursday from 9:30-10:30a.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home 495 South State Street.
