Harvey Brittain

December 21, 1947 — June 16, 2015

Our dear father, brother, grandpa, uncle, and friend Harvey Laverne Brittain has returned to our Savior's arms. Harvey was born on December 21, 1947 in Grand Junction, CO to Donna Mae (Ott) and Malcolm Allen Brittain. He died at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, UT surrounded by family on June 16, 2015. As a young man Harvey served in the army during the Vietnam War. After the war he went to work as a truck driver, which he continued until a back injury forced him to stop driving diesels. He was an avid fan of old cars and trucks, especially Fords, and had participated in several car shows with the Oldies but Goodies Wasatch Cruisers car club he helped establish. Harvey was a good dad who loved his kids, a terrific grandpa, and a good uncle to his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his children, Harvey LaVern Brittain, Jr (Tiesha), Wendy Currie (Claton), Lexi Shelton, Sonya Shelton, Cammie O'Conner (Tyrell), Steven Shelton; his sisters Pamela Bennett (Bradley), Brenda Ryan and brothers Joe Lystrup (Sandy), Rodney Kenney, Karl Kay; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Nelson Brittain, Terry Brittain, Harold Brittain, Dale Kenney, wife Kelly (Chorniak) Brittain, and son Christopher Brittain. Services will be held on Friday June 26, 2015 2:00 pm at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah. Internment at Provo City Cemetery immediately after services.
