Gordon Arthur Radford
June 1, 1943 – March 3, 2025
Gordon Radford passed away March 3rd in Orem, Utah.
Gordon was born in 1943 in Vancouver, British Columbia. His father Arthur was a carpenter in the Canadian armed services during the war, serving in the Yukon Territories and Vancouver Island and then eventually settling in Edmonton, Alberta. Gordon relocated to Utah in his early 20s to attend Brigham Young University and was soon joined by his fiancée Doreen Strynadka. They were married in 1967, celebrating their 57th wedding anniversary last October.
Gordon owned an automotive transmission shop before transitioning into electrical testing for the energy industry in and around Evanston, Wyoming where he lived part-time for many years.
Our dad was a passionate outdoorsman. As a family, we camped in the Uintas, fished at Flaming Gorge, and panned for gold in British Columbia. Dad’s favorite vacations were fishing with long-time friend Roger Bargar in Alaska and hunting moose with child-hood friend Jim Pither.
Gordon Radford is survived by his wife Doreen, four children – Tanya (spouse: Craig), Scott, Daryl, and Heather (spouse: Charles), two grandchildren – Taylor and Thomas, and siblings Dawn Kehoe, Marilyn Dutka, and Clair Radford. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Doris (Johnstone) Radford, and his brother George Radford.
An open-house memorial will be held at the Radford home on Sunday, March 9th from 1-5 p.m. in Orem, Utah. A second memorial will be held in Edmonton, Canada later this year.
Condolences for the family may be expressed on this page.
