Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Glennes LeeMaster Nelson, age 95, returned home to the loving arms of her eternal companion on July 3, 2016.
She was born October 15, 1920 in Moab, Utah to Jessie and Sarah LeeMaster. She was the last surviving child in a large and loving family of 8 children.
She married her sweetheart, Howard R. Nelson on August 30, 1939 in the Salt Lake City LDS temple. They spent 65 wonderful years together. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2005.
She spent her life in service, helping, remembering and caring for all those she came in contact with. She was devoted to her family and was always grateful to spend time with them. She loved music, especially singing and was a member of the Chauntenettes for many years. She and Howard spent many years working at the Utah Valley Visitors Center in Provo where they greeted travelers with their vast knowledge of Utah.
Glennes was preceded in death by her sons Wayne and Karl Nelson. She is survived by her 4 children: Leland (Kathy) Nelson of Orem; Karen (Kelly) Fowler of Denver, Colorado; Steven (Launa) Nelson of Springville; and Sheri (Bart) Peterson of Sandy, 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Glennes’ family would like to offer their deepest appreciation to the staff of Provo Rehab and Nursing as well as the staff of Summit Hospice for their loving care.
