Glen Morris Harris

August 31, 1932 — February 18, 2025

Orem

Glen M. Harris, 92, from Orem, Utah passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on February 18th, 2025. He was born August 31, 1932 in the old Charlie Olson home located near Manilla, Utah to Ronnie and Della Harris. The oldest of three children, he spent his younger years on his family ranch. He enjoyed trapping coyotes and fishing. He married his high school sweetheart, Clela Nelson, on January 28, 1952. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on January 28, 1984. He was called into Army service for the Korean conflict and spent time in San Luis Obispo in California. He spent summers working for the railroad and doing carpentry in various parts of Utah and Wyoming.

Glen and Clela had two children; Carma Jean, and David. Their family enjoyed boating, farming, and spending time playing card games with extended family. Glen worked a long and dedicated career of 38 years with the Bureau of Reclamation where he built various dams including East Canyon Dam, Flaming Gorge Dam, Meeks Cabin Dam, and State Line Dam.

Glen enjoyed helping others and was always seen fixing, repairing, teaching, or offering his talents to family, friends, and neighbors. He served a service mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints during which he repaired over 300 sewing machines. There was nothing he couldn’t fix, and often spent time with his son, Dave, working on their homes and cars. He enjoyed spending time in his yard and had a very bountiful garden and fruit trees. He was famous for his peanut brittle. After Clela’s passing, he married Eutona Wilde in December 2015. They enjoyed eight happy years together in Orem.

Glen is survived by his daughter Carma Jean (Jennings) Skidmore, daughter-in-law Cindy, grandchildren Gregg, Devri, Jenny, Danny, Scott, Lisa, and Katie. He has 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Clela, wife Eutona Wilde, son David, granddaughter Karen, and great-grandchildren Mason and Asher.
