George Price

George S. Price, age 88, passed away on October 22, 2015 at UVRMC due to kidney failure. He was born on July 7, 1927 in Nephi, Utah. His parents are Clinton K Price and Phyllis Tolley Price. He attended South High School in Salt Lake City. He joined the Navy at the age of 17 and served during the end of World War II. He married Carol N Everett on January 15, 1949. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1956. George and Carol have lived in Orem for over 50 years. He worked at the Salt Lake Hardware Company for many years before he started working for himself. He became a Manufacturer's Representative selling hardware. He loved that job and he was very good at it. He made friends easily and people loved working with him. He is known for his jokes and quick wit. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. One of his favorite activities was golfing. He was great at it. He taught all his children how to golf and even got his wife golfing. He was well known at the East Bay golf course and had a tournament named after him, the George Price Classic. He loved going down during the tournament and visiting everyone. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol; his 4 children, Ron (Susanna) Price, Randy (Jeanette) Price, Karen (Don) Reid and Scott (Kerri) Price; 2 brothers, Bob Price and Larry Price and 1 sister Sondra Price; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by 1 granddaughter, Stephanie Reddington, 4 sisters, Gayle Moffitt, Betty Mathis, Marilyn Brown, Carol Jean Elkington, 1 brother, Max Price and his parents Clinton K and Phyllis Price. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Cherry Hill 3rd Ward chapel at 1650 South 200 East, Orem UT. There will be a viewing before the service at 10:00 am to 10:45 am. There will also be a viewing on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State, Orem, UT. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
