Frederick "Fred"Richard Fonseca peacefully left this world for the next, passing away in his home on March 9, 2015, due to complications following cancer. Fred was attendedto, loved by, and is survived by his wife and eternal companion, Anne Marie Fonseca, his daughters; Meghan Fonseca (Emily), Teal Duncan (Nate), and Janelle Morton, who is currently serving a mission in South Korea for The Church ofJesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Fred was a beloved brother and uncle and issurvived by his two sisters and three brothers; Carmen, Josephine "Josie", Jessie (Jo Ann), Stephen "Stevie", and Joseph Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred Fonseca was born November 10, 1948 in Joliet, Illinois. He is known for his gentle, loving, cheerful disposition which drew others near. His devotion to God, love of others and family, and his industry are woven through his life like threads in a tapestry. Mr.Fonseca served as student counsel president in his younger years, director of student affairs at the University of Pittsburgh, and worked most of his adultlife in the telecommunications industry. He lived all over the U.S. and developed meaningful relationships wherever he resided. Most recentlyFred worked for the State of Utah as a Workforce Services counselor. His sense of humor and faith tempered his adversities. Fred was 66 years old at the time of his passing. He was preceded in death by his fatherJose "Joseph" and his mother Mary b. Jaso Fonseca, and five brothers: Raul,Raymond, Raul A., Richard, and Rudy Fonseca. A viewing at 10 am and Funeral services at 11 am will be held on Thursday March 12th at the American Fork Stake Center, 240 S. Center Street, American Fork.
