Frank Breinholt

December 24, 1940 — May 12, 2017

Frank Dennis Breinholt, age 76, passed away peacefully in his home in Orem, Utah, on May 12, 2017, following a courageous four-year battle with cancer. He was born on December, 24, 1940, in Ephraim, Utah, to Frank Otto Breinholt and Anna LaRue Allred. He was the oldest of five children.

At age 21, Frank became the fourth generation in his family to serve an LDS mission to Copenhagen, Denmark, the land of his ancestors. Throughout his life his mission held a special place in his heart, as it gave him an opportunity to share the gospel he loved and build relationships that lasted a lifetime. Following his mission, he was sealed to his beautiful bride, Venice E Powell, in the Manti, Utah, temple on January 24, 1964. Together they had seven children.

Frank earned a bachelor’s degree in drafting and design, graduating valedictorian from Brigham Young University in 1966. He then went on to work as a mechanical engineer for the Valtek/Flowserve Corporation. His job provided many opportunities, his favorite of which was traveling the world as an automatic control valve trainer. He enjoyed meeting and working with people all over the world, building lasting friendships, and sharing his love of the Gospel, which is what he did wherever he went. During his many travels, he often re-routed himself through Copenhagen in order to revisit the land of his mission and keep in contact with the people he grew to love.

He enjoyed making jokes, traveling the world with his sweetheart, going camping with his children and grandchildren, and cheering on his BYU cougars. His favorite hobbies included recording and indexing movies as well as attending to his beautiful lawn and garden.

He is survived by his wife Venice; six children: Randie (Rich) LeBaron, Michael (Tricia) Breinholt, Jodi (Michael) Hutchings, David (Linette) Breinholt, Bethany (Jared) Anderson, JP (Patricia) Breinholt; 24 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother and father and his son, John Allen Breinholt.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a viewing held the evening of May 19, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. or the morning of May 20, 2017, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the LDS meetinghouse located at 481 East Center Street in Orem, Utah. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at the Orem Cemetery located at 1520 North 800 East, Orem.
