Floyd Hullinger

November 17, 1936 — October 17, 2017

Floyd Earl Hullinger, 80, of Orem, passed away October 17, 2017. Floyd was born to Harold and Jennie Hullinger on November 17, 1936, in Vernal, Utah.  On August 9, 1963, he married his sweetheart, Glena Mae Hatch in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Floyd loved to share stories about growing up on the family farm and Vernal always held a special place in his heart. He graduated from Uintah High School and attended BYU. Floyd was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life.  He served an honorable LDS mission to Sydney Australia from 1955-1957. Floyd and Glena had eight children and raised their family in Orem.  Floyd had a love for learning and was intensely curious.  He had a deep appreciation for God’s creation.  For many years, Floyd owned his own barbershop and created many friendships with his customers. It was also a joy for him to work at the barbershop at the LDS Missionary Training Center, sharing his wisdom and stories with the missionaries.  Floyd loved to tinker after hours in his shop where he developed a great skill in sculpting. He was a fabulous storyteller and always shared his testimony of the restored gospel with his children and grandchildren.  He loved his family above all. He will be dearly missed.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Glena; children Penny Morris, David (Laurie) Hullinger, Jeff (Lucia) Hullinger, Craig, Jim (Krysta) Hullinger, Martha (Shawn) Karr, Brian Hullinger, and Marilyn (Jason) Porter; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother Dick (JaNee) Hullinger; sister Venetta (Glen) Probst; sister-in-law, Enid Hullinger.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Hugo, Paul (Marjorie), and Don (Elsie); and son-in-law Dennis Moore.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the 5th Ward LDS chapel located at 225 East 200 North, Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held before the funeral from 9:00-10:45 am. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery.
