1925 - 2016 When the sun came out Saturday 2/20/16 to melt the last of the winter snow, it heralded the departure of our mother, sister, grandma, friend, and hero from this earthly realm as she stepped away from her four living, loving daughters to be with her husband, children, family and friends on the other side. Florence Arlene Adams Dart was a lifelong resident of Orem, Utah. She was born the third of ten children to Florence Ethel Wilde and James Leslie Adams on February 7, 1925. She was raised on the family farm where she learned the value of hard work and the gift of gratitude for all she had and everyone she knew. Arlene was educated in Orem, attending Spencer Elementary School and Lincoln High School where she graduated in 1943. She met her husband Frank Blaine Dart when he worked on the family farm. They were married on November 19, 1944. They had eight children, and Frank died on May 4, 1970; leaving Arlene to raise the children and maintain the home and family cabin as a young widow and a determined woman. Arlene was active in sports as a young woman and continued to volunteer in church callings including Girls Camp on the ward and stake levels. She was a dedicated Girl Scout Leader serving as a troop leader, neighborhood chairman, day camp director for all the girl scouts in Utah County. She made a difference in the lives of hundreds of girls. Mom always expressed her gratitude for those around her. She remembered birthdays of her family, friends, and neighbors and acknowledged kind deeds with grace and dignity. Arlene celebrated her 91st birthday on February 7, 2016, the age of her mother and older sister, and died 13 days later of a sudden illness. Survived by four daughters; Sharon Dart Muir of Orem, Linda Dart Rodier of Sandy, Toni (Don) Sullivan of Lindon, and Sue Brereton of Herriman , brother Michael Adams of Orem and also 28 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She leaves behind countless friends.
