Florence C. Anderson (Minnie)

Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many passed away peacefully at her home in Orem Utah, as was her wish, on July 19, 2024.

Florence Caroline Howard (Anderson) was born May 3rd, 1933 in Richfield Utah along with her fraternal twin Roy Jr., to Roy Platt Howard Sr and Florence Howard (Hoopes). The newborns, who resembled two tiny mice when born, were quickly given the nicknames “Minnie and Mickey” that would stay with them their entire lives. Minnie, Mickey, and their parents resided for many years in Sigurd Utah.

Minnie graduated from Richfield High School and attended the University of Utah (UofU) and Colorado Academy where she studied dance choreography. Upon graduation from the UofU she returned to Richfield High as a physical education teacher.

Minnie married Charles Victor Anderson (Skip) on August 21st, 1954 in Richfield, Utah. Together she and Skip celebrated the birth of four children and a marriage of over 67 years. Their children Charles V. Anderson Jr., Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Paula Anderson Sigurd Utah, Laura (Anderson) Sween (deceased) and Maria (Anderson) Beveridge (Christopher) Draper, Utah all deeply loved Minnie and her passion for life. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she relished the opportunity to share stories and adventures with them. 

Minnie is preceded in death by the love of her life Charles (Skip) Anderson, her brother Roy (Mickey) Howard, Jr. and daughter Laura (Anderson) Sween. A celebration of life honoring Minnie will be held at a future date and location to be announced.
