Fay Opdycke Schumacher age 91, of Orem, Utah passed away on September 3, 2015 in her home. Fay was born in Greenwood, Wisconsin to Edgar and Eloda Opdycke on July 23, 1924. Fay married Technical Sergeant Melvin M. Schumacher on February 25, 1943 at Camp San Luis Obispo, California. Fay worked for McDonnell Douglas as a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII. She was later secretary for St. Luke's Methodist Church in Enterprise, Alabama in the 70's. She spent the remainder of her years as a homemaker. Fay is survived by her daughter Jan Schumacher of Orem, Utah, her son Stephen (Lyn) Schumacher of Savannah Georgia, granddaughter Alicia (Bryan) Evans and great grandson Stephen Avery also of Savannah Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, 2 sisters Janice and Janet. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home 495 South State Street in Orem. A visitation will be held prior to services from 9:00-9:45a.m. Interment will take place at Camp Williams Veteran Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah.
