Eric Jensen Tuttle, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, among many other titles, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on April 20, 2022.
Eric was born on July 5th,1947 in Gunnison, Utah, the first of Ruth and Wayne Tuttle’s five children. His early years were spent in New Castle, Colorado, where he learned to love hard work and the outdoors by helping his father on the family sheep ranch. The family would later relocate to Provo, Utah, where Eric would live throughout most of his childhood and adolescent life. Eric claimed to be a proud Provo Bulldog, but actually graduated high school in New Zealand, where his parents were serving a labor mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
After being called to serve a two-year mission to the Gulf States, Eric came back to Provo to attend Brigham Young University, where he would go on to major in construction management. On June 3rd, 1970, while he was working on his degree, he would marry his childhood sweetheart, Mary Hafen.
Eric and Mary had four children in total: Taina, Gina, Bret, and Mandi. After brief stints in Montana and California, Eric took a job working in the Auxiliary Maintenance Carpentry Shop at Brigham Young University.
After the passing of his first wife, Mary, in 2016, Eric married Judy Cutler in 2017 and devoted his time and efforts to the things he loved most–traveling the world, leatherworking, woodworking, and his 7 grandchildren.
Eric is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, and his younger brother Dale. Eric is survived by his second wife, Judy Cutler, her children, as well as his four children: Taina Reece (Kyle), Gina Tuttle, Bret Tuttle (Sandi), and Mandi Tuttle. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Kylie, Zach (Madi), Kaitlyn, and Madison (Logan), Austin, Emma, and Avrie. He is also survived by his siblings, Laura Erickson (Louis), Karen Robison (Gene), and Glen Tuttle (Eileen).
