Eric Longhurst

Eric Daniel Longhurst passed away on March 3, 2016. He was born on May 14, 2004 and resided in Orem, Utah. Eric is survived by his parents, Mark and Carolyn Longhurst of Orem, and his siblings Jason (Aubrey), Kyle, Brian, Melissa, and Nathan. He will be missed by loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was the youngest of six children. Friends and family may visit Eric's family on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 6-8pmat Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home (495 South State Street Orem) or Friday, March 11th from 11-12:30 pm at the Northridge Stake Center (1660 North 200 West Orem). The celebration of Eric's life will begin at 1:00pm. Eric enjoyed being active and on the go. His home was full of boys from the neighborhood who loved to play night games, ultimate Frisbee, flag football, and spend time together. He participated in the Northridge Elementary Chorus, ballroom dancing, soccer, and scouting. He often asked if he could go skiing or play in the snow at Aspen Grove. His summers were spent with his family at BYU Aspen Grove Family Camp. There he enjoyed making new friends, building sand castles, swimming, rock climbing, leading songs on hikes, and eating! The stories that have been told of Eric's goodness have helped others to recognize the influence he has had on so many. His enthusiasm for life, sincere compassion for others, and happy countenance will always be remembered and hopefully emulated. On many occasions, when he would do something unique or perhaps embarrassing, he would confidently exclaim, "THAT'S ME!" Everyone loved to hear Eric yell out the words, "I'M HOME!" whenever he came through the door after school. As he exited this life and returned to his Heavenly Home, we can picture him exclaiming, "I'm home!" A special thanks to the police officers, paramedics, nurses, doctors, hospital staff, and donor liaisons that were so kind to Eric and his family. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Northridge Elementary, Primary Children's Hospital or enjoy a special moment with your family. Interment will be at Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East.
