Eleanor Hull

January 20, 1943 — November 30, 2017

Eleanor Ann Bartholomew Hull died peacefully around sunrise on 30 November 2017 from the effects of cancer while at home in Edgerton, Kansas, surrounded by family members who had been caring for her.

She was born January 20, 1943, to William Victor Bartholomew and Eleanor Moore in Payson, Utah. She was raised in Washington D.C., Iowa and North Carolina, graduating from Broughton High School in Raleigh in 1961. She attended Brigham Young University starting in 1961.

She married Dale Ernest Hull on September 1, 1962, in the Manti, Utah, LDS Temple. Throughout their married life, Ann and Dale enjoyed serving in their church and in the community, making many lasting friendships in the places they lived: North Carolina, New York, Oregon, Illinois, Texas, and Utah. Following Dale’s passing in 2008, Ann relocated to Kansas. They worked together tirelessly to raise ten children and do all that they could to provide valuable experiences for their family.

Ann was an excellent cook, an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed other hobbies including homemaking, family history, gardening, time with kids and grandkids. As she moved about the country, she found herself time and time again at the head of service organizations, applying the finely honed organizational skills and compassion that helped her keep a large household moving forward. Since May of 2012, she has served in the Kansas City LDS temple.

Her children publicly express their deep gratitude for their mother's example of Christ-like living. She loved and respected her husband. She taught the importance of service and sacrifice and of putting one's trust and faith in our Father in Heaven. She left a lasting legacy of love and service through her example. The Gospel of Jesus Christ, her husband and her family were the most important things in her life.

She is survived by all ten of her children: Bill (Melanie) Hull of Olathe, Kansas; Steve (Paige) Hull of Herndon, Virginia; David (Maralynne) Hull of Orem, Utah; Deron (Katrina) Hull of Cary, North Carolina; Jared (Coleen) Hull of Sterling, Virginia; Dan (Gabriela) Hull of Boerne, Texas; Joe (Amanda) Hull of Azle, Texas; Lin (Jeremiah) Johnson of Lebanon, Oregon; Sam (Olliviah) Hull of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Becky Hull of Houston, Texas. She has 40 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings: Joyce (Don) Stovall of Camas, Washington; Carol Hunter of Holden, Missouri; Paul (Loanne) Bartholomew of Raleigh, North Carolina; Marcia (Tom) Gandolph of Apex, North Carolina; John (Holly) Bartholomew of Orem, Utah.

Funeral Services in Utah will be held 11a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the LDS Chapel located at 500 South 600 West, Orem, Utah. There will be a viewing Friday, December 8, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah, and a second viewing will be held just prior to the services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery, Orem, Utah.

Ann asks that- in lieu of flowers- donations be made to the LDS Humanitarian Fund.
