Elaine Moody passed away in her birth city, Provo, Utah, on March 10, 2016. She felt blessed to live long enough to tour the Provo City Center Temple because the Tabernacle held many memories for her. Elaine was born into a valiant family on July 21, 1927, the youngest of John Wells and Mary Myrl Alder McAllister's five children. As a Daughter of Utah Pioneers, she was always grateful for her ancestors. When she was a year old, the family moved to California, where they lived until World War II broke out. The sighting of a submarine off the coast and concerns for the family's safety prompted a move to her parents' hometown of Manti, Utah. They later moved to Provo where Elaine finished high school and attended Brigham Young University (BYU). She married her high school sweetheart, Albert Eugene Harry, on September 2, 1947 after he returned from serving in the Army. They raised four children in Logan, Utah and enjoyed many happy family times camping, boating and snowmobiling. Al and Elaine divorced in 1977, after which Elaine worked at Utah State University, finished her Associate degree, served a full-time mission in Jackson, Mississippi, and earned a Certified Professional Secretary degree. On May 11, 1984, following a whirlwind courtship, Elaine married Edward Grant Moody, a widower and Professor of Animal Science at Arizona State University. Their first project together was compiling the book "John Wyatt Moody Family, Past and Present". They served full-time missions at the BYU Benson Institute where Grant wrote the book "Raising Small Animals for Food", the Washington D.C. Temple Visitor Center, and Provo LDS Employment Center. They also served in the Orlando Florida Temple. Throughout her life, Elaine served tirelessly in church callings, including Ordinance Worker in the Provo Temple with Grant for 10 years. She had an abiding love for her Savior Jesus Christ. She loved gardening, quilting, sewing, dancing, music, travel, and, especially, entertaining. She was the ultimate hostess! Her greatest happiness was in her friends, her sweet husband Grant, and their combined 11 children, 43 grandchildren and 99 great-grandchildren. She endured many trials with grace and guileless trust in God. Her favorite hymn was "Love One Another"; we honor her memory as we follow that admonition. She is survived by her children Kathryn (Mark) Bardwell, Rick (Jeri) Harry, Donald (Pauline) Harry, Ronald (Tena) Harry, Grant's children Kimberly (Dana) Moody, Janene (Brent) Farley, Margo (Quinn) Johnson, Gregory Noble (Kristina) Moody, Deborah (Dennis) Slothower, Melinda (Robert) Allen, Lauralee (Daniel) Bailey, and a brother, Dale (Laura) McAllister. She is also survived by a large, but unknown number of surrogate children and grandchildren because she loved everyone and everyone loved her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Grant, and siblings Wells, Lucile and Earl. Funeral services will be on March 14 at 11 AM in the Pleasant View First Ward located at 650 E. Stadium Ave., Provo, Utah. Friends may call at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State in Orem, on Sunday, March 13 from 6 to 8 PM, or at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, prior to the funeral
