Edwin Lewis

Ed was born in Heber, Utah on September 29, 1917 to Siney Charles Lewis and Clara Dahlman Lewis but lived his earlier years in Provo. He married Rhea Haslem on December 6, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He served in World War II briefly and served in scouting for more than sixty years, earning both his Eagle and Silver Beaver awards.

They were blessed with seven children and in return his children were all blessed with a father who had a unwavering love and dedication to his family. His six boys all earned their Eagles and his only daughter, the youngest, earned the well-deserved love and respect of a great dad.

Ed was a lifelong active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a near-perfect example of enduring to the end.

The mountains and his passion for hiking were among his favorite things and his family was blessed as a result of those passions. He will be missed but we are blessed with the knowledge that he’s in a better place. Ed is survived by his seven children: Gary (Shellee) of Iona, ID; Ron of Orem, UT; Wayne (Debra) of Acworth, GA; Glade (Terri) of Orem, UT; Lynn (Jeanna) of Riverton, UT; Vic (Debbie) of Woodland Hills, UT; and Bonnie (Lee) of San Diego, CA.

He was preceded in death by his eternal companion Rhea in 2009.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel, 1450 South 800 East, Orem.  Viewings will be held on Thursday, November 1 at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services.  Interment: Orem City Cemetery.
