Dorothy Marie Taylor Warner passed away Friday, September 26 in Orem, Utah at 94 years of age. She was born in Oakland, California on March 19, 1920 to Verne A. and Marie F. Taylor. She graduated from Evanston High School and attended the Business College in Ogallala, Nebraska. During her post high school summers she enjoyed working in Bryce Canyon as a maid, waitress, and entertainer. She was a Job's Daughters Queen. After she married, she worked as a medical assistant for several doctors in Pocatello, ID, Orem, and Salt Lake City, UT. She married Ross W. Warner on March 16, 1940 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple that same year. They were blessed with five children and she is survived by: Paul R. (Karen) Warner of Provo, UT, Pamela M. (Doyle) Christensen of Huntersville, NC, Meredith Rowe of McCammon, ID, Melinda (Michael) Jones of Gilbert, AZ, and Mark T. (Jane) Warner of The Colony, TX. During their marriage they lived in Evanston, WY, Orem, UT, Pocatello, ID, Salt Lake City, UT, Honolulu, HI, and St. George, UT. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many positions in the Young Women and Relief Society. She was gifted musically and sang in many choirs and was often called upon to solo for funerals, marriages, and other functions. Dorothy was best known for her service to neighbors and friends. She was often found helping others; be it early in the morning or the middle of the night she was a blessing and comfort to others. Dorothy's husband and children were her greatest joy and she loved animals, music, travel and flowers. She has 27 grandchildren and 87 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, an only brother, a grandson and son-in-law. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 11:40. Funeral services will be at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary 495 South State Street Orem, UT on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 12 PM. Interment will follow in the Orem City Cemetery. The family wishes to sincerely thank the Beehive House and Brighton Hospice for their tender care. Loving thanks is extended to Melody Bolli for her service to her grandmother for seven years and to Paul and Karen Warner for their watchful care and compassion.
