Dorothy Jean (Cassingham) Kaas passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Joe Kaas, her mother Goldie Cassingham and her father Lawrence Cassingham. Dorothy was born in Oak Creek Colorado on January 18, 1932. She moved to Utah early in her life and resided in Utah County until her death. Dorothy had a great love for music and children. She had a beautiful voice and was a member of the Rock Canyon choir for many years. She also worked at Westmore Elementary School in Orem, for several years as a teacher's assistant. She taught many children with special needs who lovingly referred to her as grandma. Dorothy is survived by one sister, Ramona Cassingham Milano (husband Charles) of Helper, Utah; two brothers, William Cassingham (wife Joanne) of Marysville, Washington and Edward Cassingham (wife Faye) of Orem, Utah, and many nieces and nephews. Viewing and funeral services will be held at Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home, 495 South State Street in Orem, Utah on Saturday, November 1, 2014. The viewing is scheduled for 11:45 to 12:45 and will be followed by the funeral service starting at 1:00 p.m. After the funeral service, Dorothy will be transported for burial to the Timpanogos Memorial Gardens Cemetery located in Orem at 1000 South 500 East. The family of Dorothy sends thanks to the caregivers at the Canyon Breeze Nursing Home for the care and companionship they gave to Dorothy. Dorothy will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
