On April 12th, 1954, a small, but dynamic bundle of joy was born to J. Irvin and Marian Wiseman. Don Robert Wiseman was born in Redding, California--weighing only 3 1/2 pounds at birth. He was the fifth child born into a family that eventually included 7 siblings. He passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, in Provo, Utah at the age of 68.
Don was happily raised in Redding, California. He graduated from Shasta Union High School and went on to attend classes at Shasta College. In May of 1988 he moved, with his parents, to Orem, Utah. He was 34 years old at that time. He worked at Deseret Industries for several years and then was employed at Macey's Grocery store in Orem. In 2013, after the death of his parents, he moved to Cove Point Assisted Living in Provo, Utah. Don has always been blessed with wonderful, supportive friends and neighbors. Thanks to all of you who have helped make his life more joyful! Thanks to Cove Point for all of your assistance with his care, and for all the relationships that he has enjoyed there!
One of Don's greatest pleasures was singing. He loved music and sang in many church and school choirs -- starting at a very young age. He had a lovely voice.
Don was the ultimate BYU fan. He especially enjoyed football and basketball. He was very honored to be a BYU Thursday's Hero recipient. Don also loved family gatherings. He was often the life of the party with his Donald Duck impersonations. He loved to dress in his Santa hat at the family Christmas parties and hand out gifts. Don was also a "master of puns"--with some ready for any occasion. He had very definite opinions on most subjects and wasn't afraid to share them. He was also a very firm believer in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and passed away with his testimony strong.
Don is survived by his brothers: Kent (LaVerne), Craig (Karen), Douglas
(Brenda) and sisters: Annette (Bob), Gayle (Ron), Kim (Kimm), and Keri (Paul). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023, at the Cherry Hill 7th Ward Chapel, 135 East 2000 South, Orem, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
In the final instructions that Don made many years ago, he dictated that he wanted everyone to know: "I love and appreciate all of you and all you've done. Love, Don"
