Don Sorensen

Don Dwain Sorensen, 87, of Orem, UT passed away on June 20, 2018. Don, son of Theodore “Ted” Sorensen and Myrtle June Peck, loving husband to his lifelong sweetheart Dixie Ellen Lunt. He is survived by his wife Dixie, and 6 children Brit, Terry, Kenna (Tim) Fisher, Val, Corine (Val) Roundy, Nikol (Darrin) West, 15 grand children and 8 great grand children and 5 great great grandchildren. Born and raised in Orem, Utah, Don married his sweetheart in June of 1951. He was drafted 3 days later into the U.S. Army. After training, he shipped out to Medical Service Specialist School in Shinodayama, Japan serving in both the Korean and Vietnam wars continuing his service until November of 1978. Don was the cornerstone to his family and an inspiration to all who knew him. He loved spending every moment he could with his sweetheart, children, and grand children and always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. His work ethic was tireless and contagious and he loved to share in good conversation with anyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is also survived by: Shirlene (George) Markisich, Gale (Lyle) Christiansen, Teddy (Diane) Sorensen, Wayne “Sweeney” Sorensen, Bill Sorensen, Butch (Diane) Sorensen, Dix “Babe” (Debra) Sorensen, and Darla Sorensen. Don is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Alva and Farrell, and 2 grand children Erica and Remington.

Services will be held at Sundberg Mortuary in Orem, Utah on Wednesday, June 27th. Viewing will be held from 9:30am - 10:45am with services from 11:00am until finished. The graveside service will be in Mona, UT immediately after.
