Dolores Myree Hart Barrows was born March 1, 1931 in Huntington Park, CA to Gerald Edsel Hart and Dolores Headlee. She was the oldest of six children. She met her forever love, Bill Barrows in 1967 and they were married January 30, 1969 . They were blessed with five children within the first year of their marriage and two more in the next few years. They were sealed in the Provo LDS Temple in 1981. Bill preceded her in death March 25, 2001.
Myree was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints and served in many capacities in Music, Primary, Young Women’s, Relief Society in the stake and ward levels. She had great compassion and acceptance for the LGBTQ community. She also served those with mental illness and their families. She helped open the Orem chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and served as its President. She had many hobbies and talents: writing, floral arranging, and music. One of her greatest gifts was looking into the heart of a person and loving those who were rejected by society. One of her great loves was being a mother and a grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, her husband, Bill Barrows, her son Steven, and two great grandchildren Christalee and Adrian. She is survived by her son, Dale Barrows, of Springville, UT, Christine Saxton (Steve), of Polson, MT, Anna Barrows, of Orem, UT, Susie Swensen (Shane), of Sandy, UT, DD Nord (Rich), of Draper, UT, and Bill Barrows (Amber) of Elkhart, IN. Fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
A viewing for friends and family will be held at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, located at 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah, on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., at the Orem City Cemetery located at 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah.
