Dixie Sorensen

Dixie Ellen Sorensen, 83, of Orem, UT returned to her sweetheart on August 6, 2018. She was born on June 10, 1935 to H. Mearl Lunt and Cora Elizabeth Young in Nephi, UT. Dixie married the love of her life, Don, on June 18, 1951 in Evanston, WY. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2018.

Dixie was a firecracker who enjoyed camping, hunting, dancing, and bowling as well as the many little things in life. She had a great love for her family and always made sure no one left her house hungry.  Though her love for her family was great, the love she held for Don was deep, fierce, and unmatched. The six weeks she lived without Don truly were the hardest part of her life. She will be missed dearly by so many family and friends but we are all so happy that she has been reunited with her other half.

Dixie is survived by her brother, Jack Lunt; her six children: Brit Sorensen, Terry Sorensen, Kenna (Tim) Fisher, Val Sorensen, Corine (Val) Roundy, and Nikol (Darrin) West; 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents, Mearl and Cora; her step-father, Lincoln; three brothers: Garth, Pete, and Dee; three sisters: Moneves, Cheree, and Colleen; and two grandchildren: Erica and Remington.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 11 am in the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary on 495 South State Street, Orem, UT. A same day viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45 prior to the funeral. Graveside will be held in Mona, UT immediately following the funeral service.
