Dixie Hardman

Dixie Gordon Hardman, beloved mother and grandmother, returned home to our loving Heavenly Father and family after a long battle with cancer.  Dixie was born on September 30, 1936, in Park City, Utah, to Gladys Arvilla Gates Glazier and Harold James Gordon.

Dixie was very dedicated to her parents and a devoted mother who loved her son Rick.  She was always such a hard worker and began at a very young age.  She was an accomplished chef at the Freemont Hotel and also at the McKarin Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Dixie’s eyes sure lit up whenever she saw her grandkids, who she loved very much.

She enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses and had a love for animals.  Dixie was very supportive of her dear friend Debbie as she attended college and in her endeavors to obtain her nursing decree.  Together, they enjoyed attending many Ute football games.  Debbie remained right at Dixie’s side through all of her health struggles and up to the very end of her life.

Dixie is survived by her son Ricky Gene Hardman, granddaughter Heather (Riley) Munns, grandchildren Hadley and Axton Munns, her dear friend Debra Woodruff, Debra’s son Bradley (Ashley) Woodruff of Florida and sisters Ilene (Joe) Talbott of Provo, Barbara Osborne of Washington, and Lorie (Jan) Paulson of Springville, and many nieces and nephews.

Dixie was preceded in death by her wonderful mother and best friend Gladys Glazier, her father Seymour Wilson Glazier, her father Harold (Liona) Gordon, her sister Fern Wright Thorpe, brothers Harold Gordon, Mick Gordon, and Gene Gordon, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life for all close friends and family will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at noon at the Springville 6th Ward Meetinghouse located at 1785 East 400 South in Springville.
