It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Derek Nolan Cordon of Springville, Utah passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, FL at the age of 2½.
Derek was born on April 15, 2014 to Nolan and Hana (Doggett) Cordon. He will always be remembered for his cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and zest for life. Derek would do anything if he thought it would make those around him laugh and be happy. Derek also had a great love of all things trucks and trains. He would spend hours outside pushing his trucks down imaginary roads and hauling dirt. Although he struggled to learn how to talk, many of his first words and phrases were about trucks, such as “two-ton tanker truck”. However, Derek was always at his happiest when surrounded by his family.
Derek is survived by his younger brother Samuel, his parents Nolan and Hana Cordon, his grandparents Dana and Chris Doggett of Orem, Derek and Bonnie Cordon of Bountiful, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22nd, at 11:00am at the Springville Chapel located at 350 N. 400 E. Springville, UT 84663. In lieu of flowers, we are asking people to donate trucks & trains to children in need this Christmas season.
We have partnered with the Granite Education Foundation in this matter so family and friends can either bring their donations to Derek’s funeral or can make a cash contribution online at https://granitekids.charityproud.org/Donate/Index/287.
Condolences may be left for the family on this site.
Derek, we’ll like you forever, we’ll love you for always, forever and ever our baby you’ll be.
