Dennis Dean Escamilla, beloved son of Maria and the late Sem Escamilla, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Utah Valley Hospital. Dennis was born on January 31, 1969 in Mexico City and was the penultimate of 8 children. Dennis was a kind, loving, and obedient son who was always sensitive to the needs of others. He also functioned as a sort of “family therapist”, given his gift of putting others at ease. Dennis lived in Alaska with his parents between 1984 and 1986 and returned towards the end of their stay to play football for Mountain View High School in Orem. His high school in Alaska kindly paid for his airfare back to Utah, given the depression he suffered because of dark Alaskan winters.
After high school Dennis served a Spanish-speaking mission in Miami, Florida for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the years Dennis has taken loving care of his mother and in the last years has been her almost constant companion, given her worsening heart condition. Dennis and his always welcoming smile and loving heart, will be greatly missed. He is survived by his mother, his brothers and sisters Noemi, Berenice, Maria Elena, Elias, Cindy, Penny and 20 nieces and nephews.
