Delbert Boyd Miner passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017, doing what he loved most, working in his yard. He was 85 years old. He was born April 11, 1932, in Provo, Utah, to Arden Franklin Miner and Edna May York. He was the 5th of 6 children. He has one living brother Don Miner (Sharon) of American Fork. He married Maxine Harward January 3,1952, in the Manti, Temple. Together they had eight children, Lynette (Mike) Robertson of Springville, Stephen (Laurel) Miner, Orangeville, Vickie (Ken) Kuhni, Provo, Deniece (Ron) Tracy, Orem, JoAnn Nuttall, Orem, Meredith Harris, St. George, Sharlene (Bob) Coleman, Provo, Rachel (Jason) Hone, Provo. He has 40 grandchildren, 84 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. He served in the US Air force and then worked for Geneva Steel in the open hearth until he retired. Maxine preceded him in death. He married Alice Jo Pierson November 15, 2003, in the Provo Temple. From that marriage he has one stepson, Dusty Lee (Polly) Gatlin.
Boyd was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings, including the Provo temple. He had a strong testimony of the Savior and later served three missions, one with Maxine and two with Alice. Boyd had a great work ethic and taught his family that as well. He loved most, his family, yard and garden.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 11:00 am in the LDS Chapel at 1551 N 1350 W, Provo, UT. Viewings will be held Wednesdav, from 6-8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 S State, Orem and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Burial will be in the Timpanogos Memorial Gardens.
