David Wayne Davies joyfully returned to his Father in Heaven on May 15, 2016. He was born on July 16, 1945 in Price, Utah, to Charlie and Alice Davies. David was the third child born to his family and spent his younger years in Helper, Utah. His family later moved to Provo, Utah where he graduated from Provo High. He went on to receive a certificate of completion in carpentry from Utah Tech, then spent a short time at BYU. David was a member of the US Army Reserve during the Vietnam War. At one of the summer camps, he was voted "best soldier" in the company, which was voted "best company" in the battalion, which was the "best battalion" in the brigade. This caused David to smile a lot. He also served a full-time mission to the Lamanites in Arizona and New Mexico. David never married, but remained hopeful as he attended many single wards and activities with no luck. He was very happy when he could give people a smile and let them know someone cared. He loved art and good clean humor, two traits he combined in his comic creations. David was most happy when he was doing temple work. He served his father and mother as long as he was able to, showing them the respect and kindness due them. They proceeded him in death, as well as his brother Geareld Davies. He is survived by his brother Grant (Diana Kay) Davies of Tigard, OR, and two nephews, Lance and Weston Davies. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21, at 11:00am at the Grandview 13th Ward Chapel, 1270 W 1150 N Provo, with a visitation before from 10:00-10:45. Internment in the Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah.
